I wanted to share what an amazing impact working out with you had made on my life. After having spinal surgery, I was so weak that it was difficult to get through many normal life activities. When laying on the floor, I was unable to even lift my legs a few inches. I was constantly afraid of being injured and really lacked physical confidence. Since beginning to work out with you 6 months ago, I have gained so much strength and confidence. You have really met me where I am at with my injury and physical fitness. You continually check in with me to ensure that the activities you plan for me are not causing me pain and make adjustments for me where needed. Your help has been life changing for me, and I would recommend you to anyone who is trying to recover from an injury or just trying to get into better shape.

I am definitely not new to the gym environment, I have been working out since I was 13 years old (Currently 28) and boxed from around the ages of 17 to 25. Something that comes along with boxing is the “NO PAIN, NO GAIN” mentality and I was subjected to many injuries throughout the years. The worst of them was a reoccurring wrist injury that came from an amateur fight the end of 2007 that inevitably forced me to stop boxing completely by the end of 2008. Taking a brief amount of time off, thinking I was healed I would then go back to the gym and proceed as if nothing had happened. Keeping that “NO PAIN, NO GAIN” mentality this caused me to reinjure myself time and time again. It’s not an easy feat to tell a gym rat/boxer to “take it easy” and “rest”. In May of 2009, completely discouraged and depressed I sought the help of Chad Morris. Our initial consultation was very professional as we discussed my needs, wants and goals as well as reviewed my current injury as well as past injuries. Our first session alone was very different for me from what I was used to. Chad’s first priority was catering to my wrist injury so we did movements I could do as well as using “very” light weight, which was a definite shock to my ego. He put together a program suited specifically towards me and my abilities. We met twice a week and within 4-6 months he had single handedly progressed me back to where I was, something I could have “never” done by myself. I have now been training with Chad for 4 years. Though my priorities change, my work schedule becomes more hectic, Chad is there is alter my training regimen to suit my needs, keep me accountable and keep me motivated. Whether you are an athlete or never worked out a day in your life, a student or a business professional working 50+ hours a week, old or young. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Chad! I have been reflecting on my progress working with you this year and have some thoughts I wanted to share with you.
When I began training with you, my initial goal was to improve my strength and conditioning. I have to admit, I was uncertain how my “bad knees” and lower back would respond to a program filled with deadlifts, squats, hang cleans and the like. Those exercises that I was afraid of and skeptical about have now become my favorite movements, and I cannot tell you how much better my “bad knees” and lower back feel now. I’ve also noticed a huge improvement in my lifting technique, so thanks for your diligent correction when you saw me lifting incorrectly.
Thanks also for taking time to help me improve my work/life balance and my efforts to want to lead a healthier lifestyle. Your observations and suggestions about finding ways to incorporate fitness into my daily schedule has allowed me to remain focused and committed to improving my health despite my busy work schedule. Your encouragement and motivation means more than you’ll ever know.
